An independent dwelling is a detached dwelling housing a single household and which is not joined to any other dwelling by one or more walls and is not in a building used also as a shop or a factory. A building housing two or more households may be a block of flats, an apartment building or a set of town houses. A hotel or lodging house is self-explanatory. There are other types of living quarters -- caravans or mobile homes, ships, tents. In such cases describe them and tick the category 'Other'. If the living quarters are in a building used also as a factory, shop or for other commercial purposes, state the fact and tick 'Other'. If you are not sure which category to tick, describe the living quarters and tick 'Other'. </svar>
