Definition
For children whose mothers received antenatal care, ANCBD3 indicates whether they received care from a public district hospital. This response category is country-specific to Bangladesh.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ANCBD3 is combined with ANCBD2 (specialized college hospital) and ANCBD1 (medical college hospital) in ANCPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2011 Bangladesh sample. Additionally, ANCBD3 is combined with ANCBD1 in ANCPUBHOS for the 2014 Bangladesh sample.

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCBD3 are encouraged to review ANCPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
