Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRET4 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a nongovernmental organization (NGO) community-based outlet. This response category is country-specific to Ethiopia.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRET4 is combined with DIATRET3 (NGO health facility) and DIATRET6 (Other NGO) in DIATRNGO (all nongovernmental organizations) for the 2000 Ethiopia sample.
