Description

Definition
For surviving children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRPRIVOTH (H12R) indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at some "other" private source for this illness. The meaning of "other" depends on the specific response categories included in a given sample. IPUMS-DHS users are encouraged to review the Survey Text tab to better discern the exact meaning of "other" for samples of interest.

Users should be careful to distinguish this variable from DIATRPUBOTH ("other" under the public sector) and DIATROTH ("other" that is not described as under either the private or public sector).
