Description

Definition
For children born in the three to five years preceding the survey, DELMA2 indicates whether a midwife assisted with the child's delivery. This response category is country-specific to Morocco.

Some samples in the "DEL" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DELMA2 is combined with DELMA1 (nurse) for the 1992 Morocco sample to create the standard variable DELNURM (nurse/midwife). IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DELMA2 are encouraged to review DELNURM for this more comprehensive response category.
