Description

Definition
For women who gave birth in the last five years and who received antenatal care during their most recent pregnancy, ANCOTHER_01 (M57X) indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported receiving care at some "other" source. The meaning of "other" depends on the specific response categories included in a given sample.

IPUMS-DHS users should be careful to distinguish ANCOTHER_01 from ANCPUBOTH_01 ("other" under the public medical sector) and ANCPRIVOTH_01 ("other" under the private medical sector). ANCOTHER_01 includes those "other" categories that do not fit into the public or private medical sector.
