Description

Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRTZ8 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a religious health center. This response category is country-specific to Tanzania.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRTZ8 is combined with DIATRTZ6 (religious referral hospital), DIATRTZ7 (religious district hospital), and DIATRTZ9 (religious dispensary) in DIATRPRIVMIS (all faith-based health facilities) for the 2004 Tanzania sample.

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRTZ8 are encouraged to review DIATRPRIVMIS for a more comprehensive response category.
