Description

Definition
For children whose mothers received antenatal care, ANCMW1 indicates whether they received care at a religious hospital. This response category is country-specific to Malawi.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ANCMW1 is combined with ANCMW2 (religious health center) in ANCPRIVMIS (all faith-based facilities) for the 2004, 2010, and 2016 Malawi samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCMW1 are encouraged to review ANCPRIVMIS for a more comprehensive response category.
