Description

Definition
GEO_NG2003_2013 indicates the region of Nigeria where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Labels identify the modern geographic units (grouped states) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. An additional integrated variable, GEOALT_NG2008_2013, does not include the 1990, 1999, or 2003 Nigeria samples but contains greater geographic detail (states).

An integrated GIS map (in shapefile format) for Nigeria can be downloaded here [URL omitted from DDI.].
