Definition

For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRPK8 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a "lady health worker." This response category is country-specific to Pakistan.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

For the 1991 Pakistan sample, DIATRPK8 is combined with DIATRPK7 (family welfare worker) in DIATRPUBFW (all public fieldworkers).
