Definition

GEOALT_RW2005 indicates the region of Rwanda where the respondent was interviewed. DHS units in GEOALT_RW2005 are equivalent to provinces.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. There are also integrated variables, GEO_RW1992_2005 and GEO_RW2005_2014, that provide spatially consistent units over time. Information from GEOALT_RW2005 is not available in GEO_RW1992_2005 due to inconsistent boundaries (see GEO_RW2005). Greater geographic detail for the Rwanda 2005 sample can be found in GEO_RW2005.
