Description

Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRBF2 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a public health post. This response category is country-specific to Burkina Faso.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRBF2 is combined with DIATRBF3 ("Primary Health Post") in DIATRPUBHP (all public health posts) for the 1993 Burkina Faso sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRBF2 are encouraged to review DIATRPUBHP for a more comprehensive response category.
