Description

Definition
GEO_JO2007 (V101_JO2007) reports the region of Jordan where the respondent was interviewed. Geographic units in this variable consist of very broad regions (North, Central, and South).

Other sample years for Jordan have their own sample-specific geography variables. Integrated geographic variables that include data from the 2007 Jordan sample include GEO_JO1990_2017 (which excludes the 2002 and 1997 Jordan samples), GEO_ JO1997_2017, and GEO_JO2007_2017 (which reports individual governorates), all of which provide spatially consistent units over time.

A GIS map for GEO_JO2007 (in shapefile format) can be downloaded from the DHS Program Spatial Data Repository [URL omitted from DDI.] Boundaries page.
