Description

Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRLS2 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the child was reported to have received treatment from a CHAL [Christian Health Association of Lesotho] health center. This response category is country-specific to Lesotho.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRLS2 is combined with DIATRLS1 (CHAL hospital) and DIATRLS3 (CHAL health post) in DIATRPRIVMIS (all faith-based facilities) for the 2009 and 2014 Lesotho samples. DIATRLS2 is combined with DIATRLS1 in DIATRPRIVMIS for the 2004 Lesotho sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRLS2 are encouraged to review DIATRPRIVMIS for a more comprehensive response category.
