Description

Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRNP6 indicates whether the child received treatment from the non-governmental organizations United Mission to Nepal (UMN) or the Red Cross. This response category is country-specific to Nepal.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRNP6 is combined with other NGOs in the 2001, 2006, and 2011 Nepal surveys.

In the 2001 and 2006 Nepal surveys, DIATRNP6 is combined with DIATRNP9 (other NGOs) in DIATRNGO (all NGOs).
In the 2011 Nepal survey, DIATRNP6 is combined with DIATRNP7 (Family Planning Association of Nepal) and DIATRNP9 (other NGOs) in DIATRNGO (all NGOs).

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRNP6 are encouraged to review DIATRNGO for a more comprehensive response category.
