Description

Definition
ATNP3 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the woman reported the Family Planning Association of Nepal, a non-governmental organization (NGO), as a place to be tested for the AIDS virus. This response category is country-specific to Nepal.

Some samples in the "AT" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ATNP3 is combined with other NGOs in the 2006, 2011, and 2016 Nepal surveys.

In the 2006 and 2011 Nepal surveys, ATNP3 is combined with
ATNP4 (AMDA), ATNP5 (INF), ATNP6 (Nepal Red Cross), and ATNP8 (other NGOs) in ATNGO (all NGOs).
In the 2016 Nepal survey, ATNP3 is combined with ATNP7 (Marie Stopes) and ATNP8 (other NGOs) in ATNGO (all NGOs).

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ATNP3 are encouraged to review ATNGO for a more comprehensive response category.
