Like MAR1STCMCMN (MV509), MAR1STCMCMN_NP (MV509_NP) reports the century month code (CMC) for the date of the man's first marriage or cohabitation. However, this variable is country-specific to Nepal, as the data are recorded using Vikram Samvat, the official calendar in Nepal. For most other countries, the CMC data for the date of the man's first marriage/cohabitation are recorded using the Gregorian calendar. The Nepali calendar is roughly 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar.
