Description

Definition

For children whose mothers received antenatal care, ANCTZ2 indicates whether they received care at a public "district hospital." This response category is country-specific to Tanzania.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ANCTZ2 is combined with ANCTZ1 (public regional hospital) and ANCTZ3 (public referral hospital) in ANCPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2004 and 2010 Tanzania samples.

Additionally, ANCTZ2 is combined with ANCTZ1, ANCTZ3, and ANCTZ4 (public regional referral hospital) in ANCPUBHOS for the 2015 Tanzania sample.

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCTZ2 are encouraged to review ANCPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
