<svar a="all" v="VE01A045"><span class="em">Water supply</span><br /><br />The principal means by which the inhabitants of the dwelling are normally provided with water from the outside. The following options are presented:<br /><div class="i1">-- <span class="ital">Aqueduct or plumbing</span>: Water arrives to the dwelling through pipes directly connected to the public water system.<br /><br />-- <span class="ital">Water truck</span>: Truck equipped with a tank that provides water to the persons in the dwellings.<br /><br />-- <span class="ital">Public fountain or pond</span>: Reservoir of water drawn from the public system, mechanically from a well or from a water truck from which the persons are supplied with water.<br /><br />-- <span class="ital">Well with plumbing or pump</span>: Hole made in the earth drilled until a vein of water is found. This water is pumped mechanically for its use in the dwelling.<br /><br />-- <span class="ital">Protected well or spring</span>: Hole made in the earth drilled until a vein of water is found, which is then protected by a ring constructed of cement or brick. This water is pumped mechanically for its use in the dwelling.<br /><br />-- Other sources: The dwelling does not have any of the above water supply systems and the water used in the dwelling is obtained from cisterns or "<span class="lang">jagüeyes</span>" [dry steams filled with rain water], rivers, streams, rain water, etc.</div><br /></svar>
