<svar a="all" v="VN89A405 VN89A406"><span class="h3">5. Ethnicity</span><br /><span class="em">All persons responding question 1 should answer this question.</span><br /><br />Interviewers can use the information given by the head of the household to fill out the ethnicity column for the rest of the household members.<br /><br />Children of a couple who does not have the same ethnicity, or an adopted child who does not have the same ethnicity than that of the adopting parents, or if any of the parents is a foreigner, respondents can define their own ethnicity if they are 18 years of age or older. If they are younger than 18 years old, their ethnicity can be defined either by the father or the mother.<br /><br />For those who are naturalized Vietnamese, they need to fill out box 2 and write down their original nationality in the blank space.<br /></svar>
