Description

Definition
FETHYNO describes the ethnicity of the person's father. The codes are identical to the codes for ORIGIN, which is available in the 1871-1911 Canadian censuses, the 1900 and 1910 Norwegian censuses, and the 1880-1910 Swedish censuses.

Information about ethnicity in the censuses is only included in the most ethnic parts of Norway, mainly the three northernmost provinces: Nordland, Troms and Finnmark.
