Description

Definition
BPLSE1 indicates the county of birth for those born in Sweden, whenever this is possible to determine from the given place of birth. This variable is drawn from the parish of birth variable BPLSE2, which is stable over time and provides greater detail. The codes of BPLSE are comparable to the codes for County, COUNTYSE.

Persons born outside Sweden are coded 99. Users may find more detailed information about persons born outside of Sweden in the variable for country of birth, BPLCNTRY.
