Abstract

FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). FAO conducted a household survey between 9 December 2022 to 25 January 2023 in Cambodia through computer-assisted telephone interviews. This is the first in the series and collected data from 2110 households. Data from this survey was collected based on a stratification by agro-ecological zones between 9 December 2022 to 25 January 2023. The province of Phnom Penh was excluded from the sample.

The survey reached 2110 households. The data was collected based on a stratification by agro-ecological zones. The province of Phnom Penh was excluded from the sample.

Weighting

The data is weighted by demographics and engagement in agriculture at the agro-ecological zone level, and by wealth proxy(source of drinking water) at the national level.

Methodology notes

The dataset was anonymized using statistical disclosure methods by the Data in Emergencies Hub team and reviewed by the Office of Chief Statistician at FAO. All direct identifiers have been removed prior to data submission.

Access conditions

Micro datasets disseminated by FAO shall only be allowed for research and statistical purposes. Any user which requests access working for a commercial company will not be granted access to any micro dataset regardless of their specified purpose. Users requesting access to any datasets must agree to the following minimal conditions:

The micro dataset will only be used for statistical and/or research purposes;
