    Abstract
    The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). FAO launched a household survey in Mali through the Data in Emergencies Monitoring (DIEM-Monitoring) System to monitor agricultural livelihoods and food security. This fifth-round survey reached 1 505 households through computer-assisted telephone interviews conducted from 11 May to 8 June 2023. Data were collected in the following nine regions: Gao, Kayes, Kidal, Koulikoro, Ménaka, Mopti, Ségou, Sikasso and Tombouctou, with the exception of the urban region of Bamako. The survey is representative at a regional scale and the sampling plan was designed with a margin of error of 10 percent.

    • FISHERIES MARKETING: fish sale, fish sale difficulties, fish sale price
    • FOOD SECURITY AND CONSUMPTION: food consumption, food utilization, coping strategies
    • NEEDS ASSISTANCE: open questions on the needs for assistance

    The users shall not take any action with the purpose of identifying any individual entity (i.e. person, household, enterprise, etc.) in the micro dataset(s). If such a disclosure is made inadvertently, no use will be made of the information, and it will be reported immediately to FAO
    Access conditions

    Micro datasets disseminated by FAO shall only be allowed for research and statistical purposes. Any user which requests access working for a commercial company will not be granted access to any micro dataset regardless of their specified purpose. Users requesting access to any datasets must agree to the following minimal conditions:

    • The micro dataset will only be used for statistical and/or research purposes;
    • Any results derived from the micro dataset will be used solely for reporting aggregated information, and not for any specific individual entities or data subjects;
    • The users shall not take any action with the purpose of identifying any individual entity (i.e. person, household, enterprise, etc.) in the micro dataset(s). If such a disclosure is made inadvertently, no use will be made of the information, and it will be reported immediately to FAO;
    • The micro dataset cannot be re-disseminated by users or shared with anyone other than the individuals that are granted access to the micro dataset by FAO.
