Interviewer instructions
MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES:
A. Measure the height of children aged 24 months or more
I. Preparing measurement tools:
1. Put the measuring tools on the wall with a longer part on the floor and a shorter ones on the wall. Pull the measuring meter to the top until you can see the number 0 on the red line on the measuring glass on the floor (you have to kneel down to look at the 0's so that you have to assisted by someone to hold the upper end of the measuring meter). This procedure is essential to ensure accurate measurement.
2. Put the upper end of measuring device using nail, make sure the device stable and not moving
3. After you are ensure that the top is stabilized attached, then the measuring meter can be pulled to top and height measurement ready to be done.
II. Steps for height measurement:
1. Ask the child's mother to take off the child shoes and hair accessories that can be affect the measurement result. Ask the mother to bring the child to the measuring board and knelt in front of the child. Ask the mother to kneel down to the right of the child.
2. Kneel with your right knee to the left of the child. It will make you freely to move.
3. Place the child's both feet are aligned and concurrently in the middle and stick to the device / wall.
4. Ask the child to look straight ahead or toward the mother who stood in front of the child. Make sure the child's line of sight parallel to the ground. With your left hand hold the child's chin. Slowly tighten your hands. Do not cover the child's mouth or ears. Make sure the child's shoulders evenly, with a hand on the side, and the head, shoulder bones and buttocks stick to the measuring board / wall.
5. With your right hand, put the measuring meter to fit on the head of the child. Make sure you press the the child's hair. If the child's position is correct, read and record the measurement results with one decimal after comma by looking at the numbers in a measuring glass. Raise the meter from the top of the child's head and remove your left hand from the child's chin.
B. Measure the height of children aged 0 - 23 months
I. Preparing masurement tools:
1. Put the measuring tools on a flat hard surface, preferably a long table or a bed with one part attached to the wall. Attach the longer part of measuring device to the end that stick to the wall. Pull the measuring meter until you can see the number 0 in the red line on the measuring glass that stick to the wall. This procedure very important to ensure the accuracy measurement.
2. Put the upper end of measuring device using nail, make sure the device stable and not moving
3. After you are ensure that the top is stabilized attached, then the measuring meter can be pulled to top and height measurement ready to be done.
II. Steps for height measurement:
1. With the help of the child's mother, lay the child on a flat hard surface with holding the child's back with one hand and the bottom of the body with the other hand. Gently lower the child onto the hard surface with the foot against the wall.
2. Ask the mother of the child to kneel next to measuring tools overlooks measuring tools so that the child calmer.
3. Hold the child's head from both directions ears. By using the hand comfortably and straight, attach the child's head to the top of the board so that the child can measure looked straight towards the front.
