Like MAR1STCMC (V509), MAR1STCMC_ET reports the century month code (CMC) for the date of the woman's first marriage or cohabitation. However, this variable is country-specific to Ethiopia, as the data are recorded using the Ethiopian calendar. For most countries, the CMC data for the date of the woman's first marriage/cohabitation are recorded using the Gregorian calendar. Overall, there is a seven to eight year gap between the Ethiopian calendar and the Gregorian calendar.
