Definition
For children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRJO7 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a private GP (general practitioner) clinic. This response category is country-specific to Jordan.

Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

For the 1990 Jordan sample, FEVTRJO7 is combined with FEVTRJO6 (private hospital) and FEVTRJO8 (specialist clinic) in FEVTRPRIVHOS (all private hospitals/clinics). IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRJO7 are encouraged to review FEVTRPRIVHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
