Sampling
Simple random sampling was used in Mirqaan Refugee Camp. The sample size was calculated using ENA for SMART. A 10% non-response rate was assumed. Finite population correction was applied due to a small under-5 population. Household verification and labelling were conducted by OWDA prior to the survey.
Design weights were calculated using the total refugee population in Mirqaan (52,136) and the sample size for each module. For modules with sub-sampling, such as Food Security (administered to 50% of households), separate weights should be applied based on the selection probability.
Survey instrument
Standard SENS version 3 questionnaires were used, covering demographic, mortality, anthropometry, child health, IYCF, food security, and WASH modules.

Data were collected via face-to-face interviews using mobile phones (KoBo Collect, version 2023.2.4). Five survey teams were trained and deployed, each consisting of a team leader, interviewer, translator, and anthropometric assistant. Centralized training included standardization and pilot testing. All eligible children aged 0–59 months in selected households were assessed. Food Security data were collected from a 50% subsample of households.
