It measures international skilled migration for the years 1975-2000.\n\nThe methodology is explained in: \"Tendance de long terme des migrations internationals. Analyse \u00e0 partir des 6 principaux pays recerveurs\", C\u00e9cily Defoort.\n\nThis data set uses the same methodology as used in the Docquier-Marfouk data set on international migration by educational attainment. The authors use data from 6 key receiving countries in the OECD: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the UK and the US.\n\nIt is estimated that the data represent approximately 77 percent of the world\u2019s migrant population.\n\nBilateral brain drain rates are estimated based observations for every five years, during the period 1975-2000.","coll_dates":[{"start":"1975","end":"2000","cycle":""}],"nation":[{"name":"Australia","abbreviation":"AUS"},{"name":"Canada","abbreviation":"CAN"},{"name":"Germany","abbreviation":"DEU"},{"name":"France","abbreviation":"FRA"},{"name":"United Kingdom","abbreviation":"GBR"},{"name":"United States","abbreviation":"USA"}],"geog_coverage":"Australia, Canada, France, Germany, UK and US","data_kind":"Aggregate data [agg]","notes":"The datasets include indicators related to:\n- Labor force\n- Immigration"},"method":{"data_collection":{"coll_mode":"Other [oth]"}},"data_access":{"dataset_use":{"cit_req":"Use of the dataset must be acknowledged using a citation which would include:\n- the Identification of the Primary Investigator\n- the title of the survey (including acronym and year of implementation)\n- the survey reference number\n- the source and date of download\n\nExample:\n\nMaurice Schiff and Mirja Channa Sjoblom.
