This is the third survey undertaken; the previous two were in 2007 and in 2010. As with the previous KMIS surveys, the 2015 survey was designed to follow the Roll Back Malaria Monitoring and Evaluation Working Group guidelines, the Kenya National Malaria Strategy 2009-2018 (revised 2014), and the Kenya Malaria Monitoring and Evaluation Plan 2009-2017. Of these, 6,481 households were successfully interviewed, yielding an overall household response rate of 97 percent.
