UNHCR uses Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) as a mechanism to collect refugees' feedback on the quality, sufficiency, utilization and effectiveness of the assistance items they receive. The underlying principle behind the process is linked to accountability, as well as a commitment to improve the quality and relevance of support provided, and related services. UNHCR increasingly uses Cash-Based Interventions (CBIs) as a preferred modality for delivering assistance, offering greater dignity and choice to forcibly displaced and stateless persons in line with UNHCR's core protection mandate. A random simple sample of 180 urban refugee households was drawn from all urban refugees registered to receive cash assistance (sample frame).","coll_mode":"Face-to-face [f2f]","research_instrument":"The questionnaire is a standardized UNHCR questionnaire for Post-Distribution Monitoring of Cash-Based Interventions and some questions were adjusted accordingly to the Sri Lankan context. UNHCR trained all enumerators and the questionnaire was piloted.","coll_situation":"The survey was initially planned to be conducted as a Face-to-Face survey in October 2020.
