To better understand and meet the food security and livelihood needs of these communities, a comprehensive household survey was conducted between January and June 2016. This survey, jointly overseen by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the World Food Programme, aimed to cover all households within these sites. However, the nomadic tendencies of the Malian refugee population posed challenges to achieving complete census. Despite these difficulties, the data collected is pivotal for informing targeted food distribution, cash assistance, and livelihood programs aimed at fostering self-reliance and economic inclusion.
