Households were surveyed across all regions of Somalia except for Banadir which is mainly urban. The household interviews reached 160 agricultural households per region and included crop farmers, livestock keepers, and fisherfolk. Data collection took place during the post-harvest period. In addition to the random digit dialing (RDD) method, panel lists from previous rounds were used in the sampling design. Design weights accounted for population size to adjust the sample to the actual population distribution. Population size design weights were calculated by dividing the ratio of the stratum population and the total population (of the country) by the ratio of the stratum sample and the total sample (for the country). Post-stratification weights were applied using education level of the head of the household to correct for potential biases arising from varying response propensities among different subgroups within the population. The same formula as the population weights was applied to calculate the post-stratification weights.
