The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). A total of 2 507 households were reached during this tenth-round survey using the random digit dialing (RDD) method and a panel list of agricultural households that were surveyed in previous data collection rounds to reach the target. Data were weighted at the analytical stage to ensure that regional population distribution was adequately represented. Weights were computed based on population size and wealth proxies (education of the head of household and access to potable water).\n\nFor more information, see https:\/\/data-in-emergencies.fao.org\/pages\/monitoring.","coll_dates":[{"start":"2023","end":"2023","cycle":""}],"nation":[{"name":"Yemen, Rep.","abbreviation":"YEM"}],"geog_coverage":"National coverage","analysis_unit":"Households","data_kind":"Sample survey data [ssd]","notes":"The survey collected information on:\n- HOUSEHOLD: household information \n- INCOME SOURCES, SHOCKS: income changes, shocks experienced by households \n- CROP PRODUCTION: crops planted, area planted, area harvested, crop production difficulties \n- CROP MARKETING: crop sale difficulties, crop sale price \n- LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION: types of livestock present on the holding, number of livestock, livestock production difficulties \n- LIVESTOCK MARKETING: livestock sale, livestock sale difficulties, livestock sale price \n- FISHERIES PRODUCTION: fish activity, comparison of fish production \n- FISHERIES MARKETING: fish sale, fish sale difficulties, fish sale price \n- FOOD SECURITY AND CONSUMPTION: food consumption, food utilization, coping strategies \n- NEEDS ASSISTANCE: open questions on the needs for assistance"},"method":{"data_collection":{"sampling_procedure":"Initially, the sample was designed to include 110 households in each of the 22 governorates, amounting to a total of 2 420 households targeted nationally.
