    Abstract
The study investigates a service mode that enhances parental care by including child stimulation along with a package of recommendations regarding health care and child feeding. There are both potential developmental synergies as well as financial synergies (in which different components affect different outcomes but have cost savings in combination). The study also assesses cognitive development. Key to the success of the study will be the fact that it will have adequate time between the initiation of the intervention and the impact evaluation and thus avoid the pitfall that has been noted when improvements in cumulative outcomes measures (stock variables) are assessed too early.
