Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRTZ10 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a private pharmacy. This response category is country-specific to Tanzania.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRTZ10 is combined with DIATRTZ11 (Private dispensary) in DIATRPRIVDRUG (all private formal drug sources) for the 2004 and 2010 Tanzania samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRTZ10 are encouraged to review DIATRPRIVDRUG for a more comprehensive response category.
