Data were collected via computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) during the lean period, also known as the pre-harvest season. The survey covered 2803 households across all 5 provinces and 16 districts (administrative level 2): Bo, Bombali, Bonthe, Falaba, Kailahun, Kambia, Karene, Kenema, Koinadugu, Kono, Moyamba, Port Loko, Pujehun, Tonkolili, Western Area Rural, and Western Area Urban. The survey estimates are representative at the administrative level 2.
The sample design follows the same methodology as the previous round. Eligible respondents were required to be Sierra Leonean nationals aged 18 or older. The sampling prioritized panel respondents from previous face-to-face rounds (R2, R3, R5, R6, R7, R9). Contact was attempted for each panel respondent up to 15 times at varying times of day and on different days of the week. If the target was not reached, the process continued with contacts from previous rounds conducted via CATI (R1, R8) under the same calling protocol. As a last resort, random digit dialing (RDD) was employed to meet quotas. Quotas were established to reflect the expected proportion of agricultural households in the population.
Base weights are applied and are sufficient for analysis, given the representativeness at administrative level 2.
