Enter interest rate in %, but do NOT enter the % sign itself, this is written in the box next to the entry field. It may be that the respondent does not know the exact interest rate and that he/she can only tell you the amount he/she is/was supposed to pay back. In that case, you should calculate yourself from the given information the interest rate. Note that if A is the amount borrowed and B is the amount that the household had to pay back later, the interest rate = [(BA)/A]*100. For instance, if a peron borrowed 10.000 TSH and he/she had to return 11.000 after 1 year, the interest rate was [(11.000-10.000)/10.000]*100= 10 %.
