Ever used anything or tried to delay or avoid getting pregnant. This variable was added to replace variable V302, which is no longer part of the DHS VII core questionnaire where the questions on ever use by method are no longer part of the contraceptive table. V302A is based on the question on ever use of any way to avoid getting pregnant and the calendar. V302A is now used to define V361 (pattern of contraceptive use and is used to define the exposure status for unmet need (V623, V625, B625A).
