Definition
For women who had symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection in the past 12 months, STIADBF2 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported seeking advice or treatment from a Center for Health and Social Advancement for this problem. This response category is country-specific to Burkina Faso.
Some samples in the "STIAD" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
STIADBF2 is combined with STIADBF1 (public health center) and STIADBF3 (Maternal and child health center) in STIADPUBHC (all public health centers) for the 1998 Burkina Faso sample.
IPUMS-DHS users interested in using STIADBF2 are encouraged to review STIADPUBHC for a more comprehensive response category.
