Definition
For children whose mothers received antenatal care, ANCBD1 indicates whether they received care from a public medical college hospital. This response category is country-specific to Bangladesh.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ANCBD1 is combined with ANCBD2 (specialized college hospital) and ANCBD3 (district hospital) in ANCPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2011 Bangladesh sample. Additionally, ANCBD1 is combined with ANCBD3 in ANCPUBHOS for the 2014 Bangladesh sample.

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCBD1 are encouraged to review ANCPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
