Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTREG7 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at an urban health unit for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Egypt.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
In the 2008 and 2014 Egypt samples, FEVTREG7 is combined with FEVTREG6 (maternal and child health center) and FEVTREG8 (rural health unit). IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTREG7 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHC (all public health centers) for a more comprehensive response category.
Additionally, in the 2000 and 2005 Egypt samples, "urban health unit" and "rural health unit" are combined in one response. This response category is preserved in the country-specific variable FEVTREG5.
