Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTREG1 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a government urban hospital for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Egypt.

Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

FEVTREG1 is combined with FEVTREG2 (government rural hospital) in FEVTRPUBHOS(all public hospitals) for the 2008 and 2014 Egypt samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTREG1 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
