This question asks about sisters reported in MM8 who died during any of the following three time periods: while pregnant, during childbirth or during the 6 weeks after the end of pregnancy. There are two important issues here. First, respondents should include any sister's death that occurred during these time periods, regardless of the cause of death. It is also important to remember that not all pregnancies produce a live birth. Therefore, the 6-week period after the end of a pregnancy could refer to a 6-week period following a miscarriage, an induced abortion or a stillbirth.
