Description

Definition
For children whose mothers received antenatal care, ANCOTHER (M57X) indicates whether the mothers received care at some "other" source. The meaning of "other" depends on the specific response categories included in a given sample.

IPUMS-DHS users should be careful to distinguish ANCOTHER from ANCPUBOTH ("other" under the public medical sector) and ANCPRIVOTH ("other" under the private medical sector). ANCOTHER includes those "other" categories that do not fit into the public or private medical sectors.
