Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRMW3 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a religious hospital/clinic for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Malawi.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRMW3 is combined with FEVTRMW4 (religious health center/dispensary) and FEVTRMW5 (religious mobile clinic) in FEVTRPRIVMIS (all faith-based facilities) for the 2000 and 2004 Malawi samples.
Additionally, FEVTRMW3 is combined with FEVTRMW4 in FEVTRPRIVMIS for the 2010 Malawi sample.
IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRMW3 are encouraged to review FEVTRPRIVMIS for a more comprehensive response category.
