Size of place of residence is the type of place in which the household resides. Urban areas are classified into large cities (capital cities and cities with over 1 million population), small cities (population over 50,000), and towns (other urban areas), and all rural areas are assumed to be countryside. This question is no longer part of the DHS VII core questionnaire, but the variable is kept in the DHS VII recode.
