Definition
For children born in the 3 to 5 years before the survey, VACDTAPIPVHIB1 indicates whether the child has received the first in a series of DTaP-IPV-Hib vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio (inactivated), and Haemophilus influenzae type b. This combined set of 5 vaccines may be labeled as a pentavalent vaccination, but it should not be confused with VACPENTA1 (H51), which vaccinates against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b
The DTaP-IPV-Hib vaccination primary series usually consists of 3 administrations, and the complementary variables VACDTAPIPVHIB2 and VACDTAPIPVHIB3 report the second and third administrations, respectively.
VACDTAPIPVHIB1 uses composite coding, with a first digit of 2 indicating the child has been vaccinated and the second digit indicating the source of information (a dated entry on the vaccination card, an undated mark on the vaccination card, or the mother's report).
