Description

Definition
GEO_JO2017 (V101_JO2017) reports the region of Jordan where the respondent was interviewed. Geographic units in the 2017 Jordan survey are governorates.

Other sample years for Jordan have their own sample-specific geography variables. The 2017 Jordan sample was included in the integrated variables GEO_JO1990_2017 (which excludes 1997 and 2002 Jordan samples), GEO_ JO1997_2017, and GEO_JO2007_2017, all of which provide spatially consistent units over time.

A GIS map for GEO_JO2017 (in shapefile format) can be downloaded from the DHS Program Spatial Data Repository [URL omitted from DDI.] Boundaries page.
