Definition

For women who gave birth in the last 5 years and who received antenatal care during their most recent pregnancy, ANCMM5_01 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported receiving care from some other unspecified non-governmental organization (NGO). The meaning of "other" must be interpreted relative to the NGO categories specified in the survey. This response category is country-specific to Myanmar.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

For the 2015 Myanmar samples, ANCMM5_01 is combined with ANCMM1_01 (Marie Stopes International), ANCMM2_01 (Myanmar Red Cross), ANCMM3_01 (Population Services International [Sun Quality Network]), and ANCMM4_01 (Myanmar Medical Association) in ANCNGO_01 (all NGOs). IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCMM5_01 are encouraged to review ANCNGO_01 for a more comprehensive response category.
